VIBRATION ANALYSIS

Applications

  • AC and DC motors
  • Gearboxes
  • Plummer blocks
  • Fans
  • Blowers
  • Compressors
  • Pumps
  • Crushers
  • Centrifuges

Requirements

Requirements are industry specific and we will advise you what we need to be of service to you when we schedule your survey.

Timeline

Survey intervals are dependent on the industry and requirements.

Reporting

Upon completion, we furnish the client with a comprehensive report of our observations and our risk mitigating recommendations.

Vibration analysis is one of the  cornerstones of any predictive maintenance and condition monitoring program. This useful technology is used by our experienced technologists on our clients’ sites to collect and log vibration data from a wide variety of machinery, whereafter it is analysed using internationally developed software, against trends developed with historical data for individual components over many years. This is a key tool to help us determine the health of your machinery and their components. We will provide you with a detailed report setting out recommendations to assist you in managing your maintenance programs.

We use a device called an accelerometer combined with a data logger, to capture and interpret component vibration levels and frequencies. The vibration data is analysed against benchmarked data for each component and so enables us to determine a wide range of fault conditions, such as damaged bearings, misaligned components, out-of-balance rotors, loose foundations and many other defects. These faults could not only drastically shorten the expected lifetime of the components themselves, but could also cause unscheduled process stoppages and business interruptions.

Your insurer might repudiate insurance claims for losses if you failed to follow a responsible maintenance program, so we highly recommend including vibration analysis as part of your condition monitoring schedule. Breakdowns will decrease significantly over time, with a commensurate increase in production output.

Vibration analysis can be performed on a wide variety of equipment, such as:

  • AC & DC Motors.
  • Gearboxes.
  • Plummer blocks.
  • Fans.
  • Blowers.
  • Compressors.
  • Pumps.
  • Crushers.
  • Centrifuges.

Our vibration technologists are experienced in a wide range of industries and are ready and motivated to help you reach and maintain your expected production outputs. Please contact our office for more information and an obligation-free quotation.
