INFRARED THERMOGRAPHY

Applications

  • Machine condition monitoring
  • Building diagnostics like moisture, roof and energy-loss inspections
  • Electrical (panels, transformers, motors, etc.)
  • Mechanical (checking bearings, belts, gearboxes etc.)
  • Furnace inspections
  • Boiler operations and steam system monitoring
  • Water leaks
  • Locating gas, liquids and sludge levels
  • Earth science imaging

Requirements

Requirements are industry specific and we will advise you what we need to be of service to you when we schedule your survey.

Timeline

Survey intervals are dependent on the industry and requirements.

Reporting

Upon completion, we furnish the client with a comprehensive report of our observations and our risk mitigating recommendations.

Iris was one of the first commercial infrared thermography service providers in South Africa. We have gone from strength to strength over the past four decades and our footprint has increased to the point where we are now the preferred thermography partner to most of the large JSE-listed multinational companies. We provide our services across Southern Africa, the African continent  and the Indian Ocean Islands.

Our motivated thermographers are internationally qualified specialists, with years of experience in a range of industries, from mining and manufacturing to retail and commercial operations.

Our user-friendly report templates are the result of years of development – they provide our clients with independent, qualified observations and practical recommendations comprehensible to non-technical and technical staff alike. We are proud of what we do and this reflects in the quality of our work. We always strive to go the extra mile for our clients and look forward to being of service to you!

Infrared thermography is the scientific and technical use of a thermal image scanner to detect heat radiation from an object. The scanner converts the radiation to temperature readings and displays the result as an image showing the temperature distribution. In the hands of a qualified thermographer, the invisible becomes visible, thereby producing useful information concerning the scanned object.

Infrared thermography enjoys wide application across many industries. It is firmly established as a tool in any asset risk management program and no successful predictive of preventative maintenance program can function without it.

Infrared thermography can be used in a wide spectrum of fields to detect different kinds of anomalies. The following applications are very common, but there are so many more:

  • Machine condition monitoring.
  • Building diagnostics like moisture, roof and energy-loss inspections.
  • Electrical (Panels, transformers, motors, etc.).
  • Mechanical (checking bearings, belts, gearboxes etc.).
  • Furnace inspections.
  • Boiler operations and steam system monitoring.
  • Water leaks.
  • Locating gas, liquids and sludge levels.
  • Earth science imaging.
